Arsenal have enjoyed fine form this season under Unai Emery, winning their last nine games across all competitions, but there is still room for further improvements.
One major criticism of the Gunners has been the lack of a top-class winger at the club following the departure of Alexis Sanchez in January, although Alex Iwobi has impressed when called upon so far this term.
The lack of depth is a problem though and the decision to loan Reiss Nelson to Hoffenheim for the season raised some eyebrows, particularly as the youngster has impressed in the first few months of the campaign.
Nelson came off the bench to score on his Bundesliga debut for Hoffenheim and repeated that trick with England’s U21 side last week, before finding the net again in the 2-0 victory over Scotland with a stunning free-kick.
It certainly appears that Nelson would be a useful asset for Emery’s side and he could replace Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the squad, who has struggled for consistency since joining from Manchester United – although he has scored and contributed an assist in his previous six league appearances.
Do you agree, Arsenal fans? Should you recall Nelson in January to replace Mkhitaryan in the squad? Let us know your thoughts in the poll below…
