Any young striker dreaming of breaking into the Arsenal first team has a big job on his hands considering the top level talent - such as Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - ahead of him in the queue.

However, Eddie Nketiah is the standout striking talent to have emerged from the North London club’s academy in recent years and his contribution to the senior squad’s cause last time out certainly endeared him to the Arsenal faithful.

With the Gunners set to take on Brentford in the EFL Cup on Wednesday, Unai Emery should use the fixture as an opportunity to continue Arsene Wenger’s work in the development of this exciting young ace.

The England under-21 international possesses great pace, is a lethal finisher and has been prolific at all levels of the Gunner’s academy. He has the quality to pose Brentford plenty of problems should he play on Wednesday and Emery would be wise to give the 19-year-old this chance to prove his worth to the squad.

What do you think, Arsenal fans - should Nketiah start against Brentford or is it more important to give minutes to more senior members of the squad?
