Arsenal have made a strong start to life under Unai Emery and are currently enjoying a 16-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

However, Unai Emery took over a big project at the Emirates Stadium when he succeeded long-serving manager Arsene Wenger in the summer. If his ultimate aim is to restore the Gunners to the top side they once were, competing for titles domestically and in Europe, then he still has plenty of work to do.

The north London club conducted some successful summer business, with Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, Bernd Leno and Sokratis all having impressed since their arrivals at the Emirates.

The overhaul is far from complete though, and Emery may be keen to make further changes during the January transfer window. With Danny Welbeck having suffered a severe injury (Arsenal.com), and Aaron Ramsey set to leave at the end of the season (Sky Sports), there are certainly holes in the squad to fill.

The Gunners still lack depth at the heart of their defence too, and bolstering their defensive contingent ought to be the priority in the winter transfer window.

What do you think, Arsenal fans - what area of Emery’s squad is in the greatest need of reinforcements?
