‘I’d rather kill myself than admit Premier League dream is over,’ claims Arsenal boss

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that he would rather kill himself than admit that his side’s chances of lifting the Premier League title in May are already over.

The North London side are 12 points behind league leaders Chelsea going into Sunday’s game against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium, yet in his pre-match press conference Wenger was in defiant mood.

“If I say to you: ‘No, the objective is not to win the title’,  then I have to commit suicide when I go out from here,” the Frenchman said.

“The objective now realistically is for us to get back in a position where we have a chance to win the title.

“That is far from done. Today it looks stupid, but there are 28 games to go. Twenty eight games – it is not bad. We have 84 points to take. We just have to win the next game.”

Arsenal squandered a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 against Anderlecht in the Champions League in midweek, and are currently in 5th place in the Premier League with 17 points.
