Impressive performances have put Arsenal star on Bundesliga side’s radar

Hertha Berlin have been wowed by Arsenal‘s Serge Gnabry’s performances for Germany’s U-23 side at the Olympic Games and are plotting a €2m (£1.7m) offer for him, according to reports from Bild.

The 21-year-old burst onto the scene in north London during the 2013/14 season, but a mixture of injuries and a less than impressive loan spell at West Brom have seen him slide down the pecking order under Arsene Wenger, while Alex Iwobi’s emergence will have done little to aid his hopes of regular football for the coming campaign.

However, Gnabry was included in Germany’s squad for Rio 2016 and with three goals in two games under his belt reports claim that he’s attracted Hertha Berlin’s attention.

The Olympiastadion outfit enjoyed a fine 2015/16 campaign in which they snuck into the Europa League qualification zone in the Bundesliga and it’s understood that they are keen to build their squad for the coming campaign with a move for a winger.

Although Alexander Esswein of Augsburg is a target, Gnabry is a player to have put himself on their radar in recent weeks, with a £1.7m offer being pondered in Berlin.
