According to Sky Sports News, Arsenal have reached a £60m agreement with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

What's the story?

Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move for Aubameyang over the last couple of weeks, and the speculation has gathered pace in recent days.

It had initially been thought that Arsenal would be priced out of a move, but according to Sky Sports News, the Gunners have agreed to pay £60m for the Gabon international.

Aubameyang, 28, has made himself an unpopular figure with the Dortmund fans over the last few weeks, with a section of the German club's supporters booing him during the Bundesliga clash with Freiburg on Saturday.

The quick forward has scored 141 times in 213 appearances for Dortmund - including 21 in 24 matches this season, which is a staggering record in the final third of the field.

The deal would be a major boost for an Arsenal side that lost Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United last week.

When will the deal go through?

Arsenal fans will be desperate to know when the transfer is going to sealed.

Despite a price being agreed between the two clubs, it is understood that Dortmund will not allow Aubameyang to leave until they have signed a replacement.

According to Sky Sports News, Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud could well move in the opposite direction, but Chelsea are also believed to be interested in the Frenchman.

Michy Batshuayi, who has been told that he can leave Chelsea, is also an option for a Dortmund side that are currently sixth in the Bundesliga table.

Arsenal are facing a race against the clock as they bid to seal the transfer before Wednesday night's deadline, but Dortmund are currently refusing to sign off on the deal.

It would be a big surprise if the transfer broke down at this stage of negotiations, but Arsenal will be a touch worried ahead of a massive 48 hours at the Emirates Stadium.
