According to A Bola, Arsenal are considering Porto attacker Yacine Brahimi as a replacement for unsettled forward Alexis Sanchez.

What's the story?

Sanchez will be out of contract at Arsenal next summer, and unless there is an incredible turnaround, the Chilean will be leaving the Emirates Stadium in search of pastures new.

The same can be said for German international Mesut Ozil, who is also close to entering the final six months of his contract with the Gunners.

Arsenal are facing the possibility of losing two of their biggest stars for nothing, and the club's supporters would go into meltdown unless suitable replacements are signed.

According to A Bola, one of those in the frame is 27-year-old Algerian international Brahimi, who has been in good form for Porto in the early stages of the 2017-18 campaign.

What are Brahimi's credentials?

Brahimi joined Porto from Spanish club Granada in the summer of 2014, and the attacker has scored 32 times in 134 appearances for the Liga NOS outfit in all competitions.

This term, he has managed four goals and three assists in 11 league appearances, which has led to interest from Arsenal, in addition to a number of other clubs.

Brahimi was born in Paris, but plays his international football for Algeria - scoring nine times in 38 appearances since making his debut in 2013.

An impressive couple of seasons at Granada convinced Porto to bring Brahimi to Portugal, and he has been an excellent addition for the Portuguese giants.

Arsenal fans would perhaps rather a big-name signing or two to replace Sanchez, but bringing Brahimi, who is valued at £18m by transfermarkt.co.uk, to the Premier League could well be a smart piece of business by the Gunners.
