As reported by The Sun, Napoli midfielder Jorginho has emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal this summer.

What's the story?

With the long-term future of first team midfielders like Aaron Ramsey in doubt at the Emirates, the club will likely be on the hunt for fresh midfield talent this summer with or without Arsene Wenger.

One player that could arrive at the club is Napoli star Jorginho.

That's according to The Sun who say that Arsenal are interested in his signature alongside the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City, sending scouts to track his progress at the Italian club.

The paper say he would cost any buyer around £60m.

Who is he?

With over 150 appearances for Napoli, Jorginho is seen as one of the Italian club’s most important players and his form this season has helped them to the top of the Serie A table with just 11 games remaining.

An all-rounder who can defend and move the ball forward into the final third, he could be an ideal replacement for likes of Granit Xhaka or Aaron Ramsey, certainly having the credentials and experience after four-and-a-half seasons at Napoli.

At 26 years of age, he’s coming into his prime and spending the money to tie him down to his best years at the Emirates Stadium could be an inspired bit of business from the Gunners.
