Arsenal are expected to miss out on signing Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, according to the Metro.
The Gunners have been linked with the German World Cup winner since the summer, with Khedira’s Bernabeu contract set to expire at the end of this season.
But Spanish journalist and La Liga insider Guillem Balague suggested today that Khedira’s Real teammates are of the understanding that the he is planning a return to Germany to sign for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Khedira is allowed to speak to other clubs during the final six months of his Real Madrid contract and Balague admitted on Sky Sports News HQ earlier today that the midfielder had been speaking to clubs in England, but none of them were willing to meet his high wage demands.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been in the market for a defensive midfielder for some time now, with Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin also being touted as a potential signing for the Emirates Stadium outfit.
