Arsenal will extend their winning run to five matches in all competitions when they face Everton this weekend, according to BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson.

What's the word?

After losing their first two Premier League matches under Unai Emery against Manchester City and Chelsea, Arsenal have turned a corner and extended their winning run in all competitions to four matches after beating Vorskla in the Europa League on Thursday.

That result, along with Premier League victories over West Ham, Cardiff City and Newcastle United has led to an increase in confidence in the North London side and they will look to push closer towards the top-four by beating Everton at the weekend.

Marco Silva's side suffered a defeat last week at the hands of West Ham, ending their unbeaten start to the season, but they will not get back to their best in time for the trip to the Emirates Stadium according to Mark Lawrenson, who has backed Arsenal to win 2-0 in his predictions for the BBC.

What was said?

"All of a sudden people are umming and ahhing about Everton manager Marco Silva after they lost to West Ham.

"That was the Toffees' first defeat of the season but Bournemouth are the only top-eight team they have played so far and, in their previous home game, they drew with Huddersfield, which is not a great result.

"Arsenal look a better team with Lucas Torreira in their midfield, and he made them play when he came on at half-time against Newcastle last weekend. Torreira is forward thinking and makes a real difference to the way they play and, if he features again, I would back him to ensure Arsenal get the points here too."

Is he right?

While Arsenal have shown improvements in recent weeks, Unai Emery's side are still not quite firing on all cylinders and are yet to keep a clean sheet under the guidance of the Spanish boss - so their defence is certainly vulnerable.

Crucially, the return of Richarlison for the Toffees will provide a huge confidence boost and it is his short of direct play that Arsenal's defensive line has struggled to cope with so far this season. However, the Toffees defence is also exploitable.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fresh from scoring a brace in the Europa League and Mesut Ozil enjoying a boost in confidence after netting in consecutive matches, Arsenal should have the edge for the match at the Emirates Stadium.
