Lucas Perez hasn’t done a great deal since his summer move to Arsenal from Deportivo La Coruna. The Spaniard was a goal machine in La Liga, but his form in the red and white shirt thus far has been hit and miss, with his only netted efforts having been in the League Cup.
However, Gunners fans may be willing to forgive him already, with the 28-year-old having lifted the lid on Mesut Ozil’s future at the club. Speaking to Onda Cero (below) the silky attacker said:
“No, I don’t think Ozil wants to return to Spain.
“You never know: Real Madrid is a big club – but so is Arsenal.”
Not only has Perez hinted at the news all Arsenal fans want to hear, but he’s also compared the Gunners to Real Madrid, who are, arguably, the biggest club side on the planet.
Ozil’s future remains a subject of some debate in north London, with the pass-master yet to pen a new contract, which is a worry considering his current terms run out in 2018.
The Times have claimed that he’s willing to stay on, but that he wants a £250,000-per-week pay-packet, which would be the highest in the club’s history.
