Martial move would transform Arsenal’s attack

According to French outlet Le 10 Sport, Arsenal have emerged as shock suitors to steal Anthony Martial away from Old Trafford this summer.

What’s the story?

Manchester United fans were losing it last week when reports broke that Martial wanted to leave the club, and now the French press see North London as a potential landing spot for the young winger.

Martial made an incredible start to his Manchester United career, but despite being a fan favourite now wants to leave the club in search of guaranteed playing time.

Arsenal invested heavily in Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this season, and a move for Martial could suggest a change in style (and management) at the Emirates.

Juventus, Chelsea and PSG are also rumoured to be interested in the 22 year-old.

Should Arsenal make a move?

Despite only starting 16 Premier League games this season, Martial has still managed nine league goals and five assists at Old Trafford. His pace, directness and clinical finishing would certainly bring something different to the Arsenal side.

Whether or not Arsene Wenger remains in charge, the Gunners could have one of the most feared attacks in Europe if they are able to fit Martial in with Mesut Ozil, Aubameyang and Lacazette.

Martial was tipped as a future Ballon d’Or winner when he moved to Manchester in 2015, so the talent is certainly there. Could a change of system and leadership bring the best out of the Frenchman?

Conspiracy theorists out there may also think a move for Martial could reveal Arsenal’s next manager – the 22 year-old broke onto the scene at Moncao under Leonardo Jardim, who many fans have tipped to replace Arsene Wenger this summer.
