Montpellier have warned the likes of Arsenal and Juventus that there is no chance of them signing defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa in January.
The Gunners were heavilly linked with a move for Yanga-Mbiwa in the summer and reportedly made a deadline day bid for the versatile centre half, however were knocked back as the French champions refused to sell.
The Ligue 1 side are determined to keep hold of their man and will not be looking to cash in on their man in the January window, according to club president Louis Nicollin.
“Is there any possibility that Yanga-Mbiwa will leave in January? Absolutely not,” Nicollin told calciomercato.com.
“We’re working on extending Yanga-Mbiwa’s contract. In any case, the only thing that’s certain at the moment is that Yanga-Mbiwa won’t leave in January.”
But Nicollin added: ” I don’t know if any clubs have been in contact with Yanga-Mbiwa’s agent, and I honestly don’t care.”
