New Arsenal superstar confident of success

Mesut Ozil (Real Madrid)Mesut Ozil is confident that his move to Arsenal will prove to be a successful one.

The German playmaker completed a shock deadline day £42.4m move from Real Madrid to the Emirates Stadium following Gareth Bale’s arrival in the Spanish capital.

With the signing of the Tottenham ace, Ozil’s chances of playing regularly for Los Blancos looked to have decreased, with new manager Carlo Ancelotti thought not to be a huge fan of the player.

This convinced the 24-year-old to make the switch to Arsenal, and he is now confident of helping the Londoners to improve.

“I feel confident that our team will reach our goals. We have a very young and capable squad full of players who will grow stronger,” Ozil told Sky Sports.

“I feel positive and I say: ‘Let’s go Gunners’.

“The Premier League is the strongest league in the world and it’s a challenge for me as I want to prove myself and prove I’m with the right club – one that supports me and supports the important players in my side.

“I just can’t wait and I’m looking forward to it as the fans are very emotional in England – they’re crazy about football and I’m looking forward to taking on the league.”

Ozil’s arrival put a positive spin on what had been a low key summer for Arsenal in the transfer market.

Prior to the club record deal, fans of the Gunners has been critical of Arsene Wenger’s lethargic approach to bringing in new names, with Yaya Sanogo and Mathieu Flamini their only signings preceding to deadline day.
