Wellington Silva has revealed that he’s in talks with Arsenal about extending his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
The 22-year-old Brazilian, dubbed the ‘New Neymar’, has been a Gunners player since 2011, but is yet to make a single competitive appearance for the London club.
Silva has been, up until now, unable to play in England due to work permit issues, but with such problems now in the past, he’s already talked up his return to Arsenal for next season.
With just one year remaining on his current contract, the youngster’s future is still in a certain amount of doubt, but the player himself has now confirmed that his representatives are in talks with the Premier League giants:
“My agent told me recently that we’re dealing with my renewal. I only have a year with Arsenal,” he is quoted by The Metro.
“But I am now at Almeria and my thoughts are here. We have to achieve our goal of staying up.”
Almeria are the fifth side Wellington has been on loan with following short-term spells at other Spanish teams Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina and Murcia.
