Mikel Arteta will probably be disappointed that his team were unable to pick up all three points at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.
The Gunners actually took the lead through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and they looked to be comfortable as they had 67% possession and reduced their opponents to just one shot in the first half. However, Jordan Ayew equalised after the break and Aubameyang’s red card then made it harder for his side to pick up all three points.
Quickfire Quiz: How much do you know about Arsenal’s history in the January transfer window?
Mesut Ozil was included in the starting line-up, and he had a bad day at the office. He failed to complete a single dribble or key pass, and he was subbed off for Gabriel Martinelli with 20 minutes still left on the clock.
The club’s supporters were far from happy with his display, and they took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
Generally agree. Though felt Ozil was invisible for most of the match

Ozil is a big problem at Arsenal

Xhaka wasnt terrible today. Suprisingly. Ozil was non existent

Indeed, considering those aforementioned stats, it is hard to disagree with the Gunners fans. The former Germany international was a passenger for much of the time he spent on the pitch.
1 assist 0 goals for Ozil in 11 games, time to allow Arteta to start Ceballos in his position

apart from Auba we have ZERO goalscorers in the our squad.. Pretty dismal to be honest the next upcoming x3 games, Ozil only x1 assist in last 12.. Pepe we should of left in Ligue 1..£72mil 🤦🏻♂️ #CRYARS #Arsenal

Given the former Real Madrid man was once the club’s record signing, those numbers are just not good enough.
Others have seen enough. They believe it is time for Ozil to be moved on.
Sell Ozil….he’s proven time and again that he’s not up to it 9/10 times

Pepe; ozil , & xaka . Should leave Arsenal before January transfer window closes.

With him being linked with a move to Fenerbahce (Fotomac via The Daily Mail) – albeit on loan – these voices may get their wish.
