The ever-controversial Barton, who has served a prison sentence for assault before and was once sent on a year-long exile to Marseille after falling out with former Loftus Road boss Mark Hughes, recently told Forever Sports Magazine; ” I said [Sanchez] was inconsistent, from what I saw for Udinese and Barcelona. You see him now, great at home against a smaller side but disappears against Manchester United.”
Sanchez is Arsenal’s top scorer and creator this season with nine goals and five assists respectively, but he’s failed to find the net against Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham since his Premier League arrival this summer.
Barton then turned his attentions to Liverpool’s goal-shy forward Mario Balotelli, who is still waiting on his first Premier League goal in a Reds jersey, quipping; “I think Mario Balotelli is a bit of a myth. I am not saying he is a bad player, and I respect the fact that he has got to where he is considering what he has.”
Whilst QPR move out of the relegation zone this afternoon with a 3-2 win over West Brom, Arsenal and Liverpool meet each other in the Premier League’s late kick-off tomorrow.
