Proof Arsenal aren’t a one man team after all?

It is no secret that without Alexis Sanchez Arsenal would be no where near the top four this season.

The Chilean has taken the Premier League by storm since arriving from Barcelona in the summer and he been hugely important to the Gunners’ fight for a seventeenth consecutive finish in the top four.

His twelve goals and seven assists so far mean the Gunners are just a point behind fourth placed Manchester United and two points clear of north London rivals Tottenham, who are sixth.

But while fans all over the globe claim the Gunners are totally reliant on Alexis Sanchez to succeed this season, it appears there is another Gunners star who is arguably just as important to the cause.

That player is none other than Laurent Koscielny, who has missed almost two months of the season with an achilles problem.

But when he does play, the France international is crucial to Arsenal’s form. The stats below show that since August 2013, the Gunners have won 70% of the games in which he has completed 90 minutes. But without the Frenchman, the Gunners have only recorded a 33% win ratio.
