It’s fair to say Mesut Ozil in the Premier League has been one monumental anti-climax.
He is yet to live up to his £42.4million price tag and is regularly played out of position by boss Arsene Wenger, much to the frustration and anger of the Gunners’ faithful.
But Opta have worked their magic and number crunched the passing data across the Premier League from last season and, surprise surprise, Mesut Ozil comes out on top as the most valuable passer of the ball.
He also comes in at fourth best at accurate passes in the final third and is officially the 2013/2014 season’s most effective attacking midfielder when it comes to valuable passes and their accuracy.
SO WHY IS WENGER NOT PLAYING HIM AS AN ATTACKING MIDFIELDER?!
