One of the standout results of the back end of last season was Liverpool’s 5-1 thrashing of Arsenal at Anfield. The Reds were at full flight at the time, with Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge brushing all aside as the Merseysiders went on a magical run to take them within touching distance of a first ever Premier League title.
Alas, we all know how it ended, and the months in-between have not been kind to the Kop side. Now with Arsenal back in town, many are predicting that Brendan Rodgers’ men may be dealt a potentially top-four ending defeat at the hand of the Gunners, but there is reason to be optimistic for the home side.
As the graph shows, Arsenal have slid since the thrashing in February, scoring less points and goals on average, while conceding more goals!
