BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has dished out kind words for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, as he compared the Chilean to former Liverpool ace Luis Suarez.
Alexis has been one of the finest players in the Premier League this season, while Arsenal have remained undefeated since a loss to Liverpool on the opening day of the season, and Crooks told BBC Sport (14:12) that he sees in similarities in Sanchez’s game to Suarez’s displays at Anfield a few years ago.
“It has been a masterstroke from Arsene Wenger playing Alexis Sanchez through the centre. He is playing like Luis Suarez a few years ago at Liverpool.”
Alexis has scored six goals in all competitions for Arsenal this term, including four in the Premier League, and has created a deadly trio in the Gunners’ attack alongside a revitalised Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil.
The comparisons to Suarez in the 2013/14 season will be music to the ears of Arsenal fans, as the now Barcelona striker almost led Liverpool to the Premier League title, and Gooners will hope Alexis can go one better and guide the London club to their first league triumph since 2004.
