Aaron Ramsey has stated that he intends to serve out the remainder of his current contract with Arsenal, rather than leave the club in January, despite the Gunners having withdrawn their contract offer to him, as reported by the BBC.
The Welshman’s words suggest that the North London club, for their part, are not pressuring the midfielder to seal a move away in the winter transfer window. This means that the 27-year-old, who was reportedly a £60m target for Barcelona in 2016, is almost certain to depart as a free agent at the end of this season.
With the Gunners looking set to miss out on a transfer fee in return for the long-serving Ramsey, we wondered how big a price tag may have been placed on him in the first place. He is undoubtedly a talented player, but would likely struggle to make the first XI at Manchester City, Chelsea or Liverpool.
We asked Arsenal fans how much they thought Ramsey was actually worth. Cumulatively, 35% stated that they considered him to be worth no more than £30 million. The majority, 52%, set his value between £30-50 million. See the full results below.
