Arsenal are currently in fine form, having won nine consecutive matches in all competitions under new manager Unai Emery. However, there is still plenty of work to be done at the club if the Gunners are to get back to competing for the biggest prizes in the domestic game.

Extensive work must be done in the transfer market if the North London outfit are to become one of the most feared sides in Europe once again. There are various deficiencies in the current squad in place at the Emirates Stadium, not least the lack of a top class out and out winger.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s predatory penalty box instincts are wasted on the flank, whilst neither Danny Welbeck nor Alex Iwobi are amongst the elite level wide men in football. However, Arsenal can’t afford to just go out and buy the best winger in the land. Therefore, they must identify him whilst young and affordable.

For that reason, the club would be wise to take a punt on Nicolas Pepe in January. The 23-year-old Ivory Coast international is valued at just £14.4 million by Transfermarkt. The Lille man has been in fine form so far this season and has already registered six goals and six assists in just nine Ligue 1 outings.
