Arsenal officially confirmed the imminent departure of CEO Ivan Gazidis last week, with Raul Sanllehi and Vinai Venkatesham announced to take his place at the top of the Gunners’ commercial ladder.
Gazidis will leave the North London club in order to take up a role with AC Milan, bringing to an end his decade with the Premier League outfit. In his time at the Emirates Stadium, Gazidis has seen three FA Cup triumphs and presided over the managerial recruitment process following Arsene Wenger’s departure at the end of last season.
However, Gazidis’ relationship with Arsenal fans was often decidedly rocky, and there have been many criticisms of his running of the club over the years. At the end of the Gazidis era many Arsenal fans will be optimistic for the future rather than fearing the worst following his exit.
