Revealed: Majority of Arsenal fans think goalkeeper search should be priority

Unai Emery had a huge task on his hands when taking over at Arsenal, and plenty of that work needs to be done in the transfer window.

The Spaniard, who is the first coach to replace Arsene Wenger, has recruited right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer from Juventus.

The majority of transfer gossip surrounding the Gunners has been linked to defenders or midfielders, but there is an area that fans are desperate for the manager to improve.

Results from our poll indicate that a new goalkeeper is at the top of the supporters’ wishlist.

Petr Cech is currently first choice at the Emirates, but last season he was susceptible to a few blunders.

The 36-year-old is highly experienced and was once regarded as one of the best in the Premier League, but it could be time for Arsenal to start looking to the future.

In order to get back to the top echelons of the elite division, Arsenal need world-class stars, and even though Cech is more than capable of performing in between the sticks, he is heading towards the latter stages of his career.

Liverpool have been heavily linked to goalkeepers in this window, but it has been relatively quiet on that front for Arsenal.

Judging by our poll results, the fans want that to change.
