The potential move for the 22-year-old, who can also play as a centre-back and a left-back, would certainly be a strange one given they have already signed another right-back in Stephan Lichtsteiner this summer.
However, new manager Unai Emery, who should move to sign 6ft 3in England international to link up inticately with Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, is obviously keen to significantly strengthen the backline he has inherited after an often calamitous 2017/18 campaign.
Any potential deal for the 6ft 2in German would surely suggest that speedster Hector Bellerin would be on his way out, and it perhaps wouldn’t be a huge surprise following a difficult season for the 5ft 10in tall Spaniard in which he struggled to make much of an impact at either end of the pitch.
We asked Arsenal fans to vote on our poll to see whether they would prefer Bellerin or Klostermann, and a slight majority 54% picked the player they already own, although the result also suggests that a large percentage are not happy with the 23-year-old.
Bellerin and Lichtsteiner certainly seems to be more than enough for Unai Emery in terms of the right-back slot in the upcoming season, and it will be interesting to see what his thinking is if Klostermann does end up arriving at the Emirates, too.
