Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil may have produced the goods against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, but that could well prove to be something of a parting gift for the Arsenal faithful.
The Gunners’ talismanic duo are still yet to resolve their contract situations, with their current terms due to expire at the end of the season, which could well force Arsene Wenger to cash in on the pair when the January transfer window opens.
But it appears Arsenal fans wouldn’t be too distraught with such a scenario, because they’re already eyeing a potential successor to the attacking pair in the form of Lyon star Nabil Fekir.
Indeed, we recently asked Gunners fans whether their club should sell Ozil and Sanchez to fund a move for the Frenchman, who has netted eleven times in Ligue 1 this season, and according to our poll a whopping 89% would.
That may have something to do with the fact Fekir is Alexandre Lacazette’s former team-mate. All three of the Arsenal striker’s assists in Ligue 1 last season were converted by the attacking midfielder.
