Rodrigo Bentancur had a solid performance for Uruguay against Saudi Arabia in their World Cup group match, and the youngster is one of the most highly-rated midfielders around.

The 20-year-old moved from Boca Juniors to Juventus last summer and has gone on to make 20 appearances in Serie A for the Old Lady, and five in the Champions League.

He was previously a target for Arsenal and they will be ruing a missed opportunity after his performances in the World Cup.

Bentancur is known as a versatile midfielder, comfortable playing in both attacking and defensive positions, centrally or on the flanks, and he is noted for his passing range as well as his defensive attributes.

He displayed these in abundance during Uruguay's second World Cup group match against Saudi Arabia, as he controlled the game making an impressive 88 passes during the match.

The midfielder, who is valued at £13.5million on Transfermarkt, registered four tackles and two interceptions highlighting his strong defensive skills, as well as completing three dribbles.

He is the sort of player that would really suit Arsenal with his composure on the ball and if his performances continue in the same vein during the World Cup he could soon be considered one of the hottest stars around.
