This Arsenal kit is one of the worst strips to ever be produced. It’s a horror of a kit.
The yellow and navy chevron style kit was worn by Arsenal players during 1991-93 – the early years of the Premier League. It’s an amazing achievement to think that this kit lasted two seasons.
The kit was nicknamed the ‘bruised banana’ as it resembled something that you would expect to find in your lunchbox at school.
It’s worrying that Adidas supplied the kit. Even though it was the early 90s, Adidas usually supplied pretty cool garms. This strip can only be described as a blip in their manufacturing.
But the current Arsenal team could do with bringing the kit back. While wearing this shocker, Arsenal completed a cup double. They won the FA Cup and League Cup in 1993. Something that the current Arsenal squad are seriously struggling to get anywhere near to.
Fans at the time hated the kit. They thought it was hideous. But as time has gone on, the ‘bruised banana’ has grown on some Arsenal fans and is something of a collector’s item.
