Arsenal fans on Twitter have been daring to dream after revealing comments made by Bayern Munich first-choice left-back David Alaba.

The former UEFA Champions League winner told BILD that when growing up in his native Austria, he was an Arsenal supporter.

In addition to this, the 26-year-old revealed that he could "imagine trying something else" having spent the majority of his career at the Allianz Arena and commented that "when you've been Arsenal fan as a kid you will be one your whole life in some way."

These revelations caused Gooners to drool over the audacious prospect of the Austria captain and world football superstar one day plying his trade at the Emirates Stadium, despite there being little evidence of any formal interest in the player from the Gunners - not to mention the fact Bayern Munich are serial trophy winners, whereas Arsenal aren't even guaranteed to be in the Champions League next season.

With all that considered, a move to north London any time soon seems a rather fanciful notion, but that hasn't stopped Arsenal fans dreaming about it regardless.

Many supporters simply claimed that their club "bring him in" when reacting to the comments, while others talked about how good a signing he would be for the Premier League team, with another comically tagging manager Unai Emery in a Tweet and asking the Spaniard to "listen!"
