SIX signings to give Arsenal some much-need pace in attack

Although the prolonged injury absence of in-form midfielder Aaron Ramsey will leave Arsenal fans with a recurring sense of what could have been this season, the loss of Theo Walcott in January had a more intrinsic impact on the Gunners’ Premier League title hunt.

The Welshman may boast superior quality with the ball at his feet, but the absence of Walcott’s renowned pace  in the final third left the Gunners’ attack and midfield incredibly one dimensional, devoid of any natural penetration. Likewise, the England international’s ability to stretch play and provide that constant threat to opposition defences has become vital to the Arsenal game-plan over the last few seasons.

Thus, if Arsene Wenger is to improve his Gunners side this summer, the French gaffer needs to add a refreshing element of speed, natural athleticism and directness going forward. It would certainly bring the best out of £42.2million playmaker Mesut Ozil.

With that in mind, here’s a list of SIX signings the North Londoners could make this summer specifically to address that intrinsic need.
