Arsenal have been handed a major boost in the race for Dortmund star Marco Reus, with reports from the Daily Star claiming that the Germany international wants to join the Gunners to work with Arsene Wenger.
The 25-year-old attacker looks set to leave BVB at the end of the season when his £20m release clause kicks in, and has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, such as Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.
Bayern Munich were, however, mooted as major players in the running, yet they’ve now switched their attention towards other targets.
And although competition remains fierce, Arsenal are now in pole position as Reus himself wants to work with Wenger.
Despite the high-profile sides involved in the tussle for his signature, the versatile forward is tempted by the Emirates Stadium, where he could also link up with international colleagues such as Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker.
