Spaniards join Arsenal in transfer pursuit

Liverpool Striker Luis Suarez

Arsenal will have to battle with Spanish giants Real Madrid for the signature of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, according to the Sunday Times.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger saw a £40,000,001 bid rejected last week however Suarez has been told about the bid and is set to force through a move away from Anfield.

Real Madrid are set to step up their chase for a world class striker buy matching whatever Arsenal are prepared to bid, leaving the decision up to Liverpool and the player.

Real have sold strike pair Jose Callejon and Gonzalo Higuain this summer and so are desperate to land a marquee striker as they look to overturn Barcelona’s dominance in La Liga last season.

Madrid’s bid for Gareth Bale seems to be meandering its way towards the transfer window deadline and so a big money move for Suarez is the quick alternative.

The Uruguayan striker has claimed he wants to leave the Premier League and would relish the interest of Madrid as he wants to play at the top level of European football.
