Statistic proves Arsenal are genuine title contenders

It’s been a good few weeks for Arsenal, as the Gunners extended their winning run in the Premier League to six matches at the weekend with a 3-2 victory over Swansea City, leaving them unbeaten in all competitions since theirĀ defeatĀ at the hands of Liverpool on the opening day of the season.

Having bottled their best chance of ending a long wait for the Premier League title last term, Arsene Wenger’s side are under pressure to perform this season and prove themselves as genuine contenders… which they did over the weekend.

Close rivals Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Liverpool and Manchester United were all unable to secure all three points, which leaves Arsenal as the only side from the top-six in the Premier League going into the latest round of fixtures to emerge with a victory.

Arsenal’s win over Swansea saw them move second in the Premier League table, behind Manchester City on goal difference, and ahead of north London rivals Spurs – while they’ve extended their advantage over Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United to five points after a turnaround of 10 points in the last five fixtures.
