If you’d have told us Theo Walcott would be Arsenal’s best player at this stage of the season, we would probably have laughed in your face.
Turns out, though, the England international has undergone a sensational revival.
After ten years at the fringes of Arsenal, where he failed to show why the Gunners paid £16m for his services as a teenager, the former Southampton youngster has finally found his feet with the Gunners and is an invaluable part of Arsene Wenger’s side this season.
Alongside Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, Walcott has been formidable this season and his presence in front of goal has been documented by stats that emerged following the weekend’s 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough.

Previously wasteful in front of goal, Walcott has tested the goalkeeper more than any other player in the Premier League this season and has scored five goals in the Premier League, contributing a further two assists to help Arsenal’s cause.
A further three goals in two Champions League appearances add up to the fact that Arsenal are finally getting their worth from the long-serving man and the Gunners deserve credit for sticking by the England international for all these years during his numerous injury problems and regular loss of form.
