Superstar striker wants Arsenal move

Juve striker Fernando LlorenteJuventus striker Fernando Llorente is keen to make a January move to Arsenal in a bid to get his campaign for a spot in Spain’s World Cup squad back on track, according to reports from The Metro.

The physically imposing forward only completed a long-awaited Bosman switch to Turin over the summer, but has endured a tough start to his time in Serie A.

Fellow new arrival Carlos Tevez has quickly established himself as a guaranteed starter, but Llorente has struggled to force his way ahead of some of the club’s other attacking talents.

This has seen his chances of making Spain’s squad for the showpiece tournament reduced significantly, especially with the likes of Michu and Alvaro Negredo impressing.

As a result, Llorente is ready to leave the Old Lady, with Arsenal one of his desired destinations.

It is thought that Gunners chief Arsene Wenger is keen on a loan move for the 28-year-old, due to a reliance on the in-form Olivier Giroud.

If the Frenchman were to pick up an injury or suspension, the London club are short on top quality alternatives.

Arsenal are also keen on Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund duo Luis Suarez and Robert Lewandowski, but deals for either of the pair are likely to be difficult to reach this winter.

Could Fernando Llorente be the man to fire Arsenal to the title?
