Talismanic Arsenal forward rues lack of ‘hunger’ amid faltering title challenge

Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez says the club’s lack of self-belief could cost them the Premier League title, report BBC Sport.

Despite leading the way in the title charge for parts of the season, a recent run of poor form has their hopes derailed.

A loss to Manchester United was followed up with a home reversal to relegation threatened Swansea, all but ending Arsene Wenger’s hopes of securing a fourth Premier League crown at long last.

The Gunners have only been able to record three wins in their last eleven games, leaving them six points off table topping Leicester City with 11 games to go.

They face a crunch tie with arch rivals Tottenham this weekend, who sit three points above them in second place.

Sanchez, who is one of the club’s undisputed key players, has talked up the mental block many perceive the North London club of having.

‘I think we can win the league with the players we have, but we lack a certain hunger’, the former Barcelona forward told Direct TV Sports.

‘We need to step out onto the pitch as if we’re already 1-0 up.’
