Tottenham Hotspur may remain unbeaten in the Premier League, but their recent form will ensure Arsene Wenger's side go into Sunday's clash full of confidence.

After all, the Gunners enter the contest on the back of a great run of victories in all competitions, which have provided the fans with a much-needed lift.

In the Champions League, Arsenal have already qualified for the last 16 while Tottenham look set to fall short at the group stages. The success and failings in Europe come with both teams maintaining a strong title challenge, and each remains hopeful of bringing domestic glory to their respective supporters.

Arsenal boast home advantage for Sunday's battle and with both teams sharing similar ambitions, it makes the clash one of the most anticipated in recent memory.

Having taken all this into consideration, this is the starting XI Wenger should field against their bitterest of rivals...

David Ospina is Wenger's choice in the Champions League, but Petr Cech is a must for Arsenal this Sunday.

Cech's record against Tottenham is sensational, with the goalkeeper being on the losing side on just three occasions during his time in England.

RB: Hector Bellerin

Bellerin v Southampton

Is there a stronger right-back in the league currently? Bellerin scored against Tottenham last season, and some of his best performance in an Arsenal shirt have been against their north London rivals.

Carl Jenkinson is not an adequate replacement for a game of this magnitude, so Wenger has to keep faith with his Spaniard.

CB: Shkodran Mustafi

Mustafi

Tottenham lay claim to one of the best central-defensive partnerships in Europe, but so do Arsenal, with Mustafi's arrival having had a sensational impact.

Mustafi's one downfall is his ability to defend crosses, according to Whoscored.com, so the full-backs will be tasked with cutting off balls at source.

CB: Laurent Koscielny

Laurent Koscielny

For five years, Koscielny has desperately required a world-class central defender to partner him. Wenger has relied on the Frenchman and his place in any starting XI is rarely in doubt.

Against Spurs, the presence of Koscielny will be pivotal in halting the oncoming threats

LB: Kieran Gibbs

Gibbs' best performances in an Arsenal shirt have come against Tottenham. The defender scored against the Lillywhite's last season securing a point with just nine minutes remaining.

The left-back has been frozen out due to the impressive performances of Nacho Monreal, but Wenger should put his faith in Gibbs for this fixture.

CM: Granit Xhaka

Xhaka

Against the forceful and physical midfield of Tottenham, Xhaka's presence and aggression will be key.

Wanyama, in particular, was sensational against Manchester City recently, and to ensure his side don't suffer the same faith, Wenger must start his Swiss star.

CM: Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal Training

A man for the big occasion, Ramsey should be seriously considered by Wenger this Sunday.

His dynamic displays in France during the summer have frustrated the Gunners faithful who are keen to witness him produce such form for his club regularly.

CAM: Mesut Ozil

What is it with this time of the year and Mesut Ozil? Last season his form was impeccable and once again the German is producing world-class displays regularly.

Criticism may be not far away when it comes to Ozil and big games, but his recent displays make him a certainty for Wenger, who will be keen to unlock the tight Spurs defence.

RW: Theo Walcott

Theo Walcott

The winger's powerful displays in recent weeks make him worthy of an instant return to the Arsenal squad.

His pace against Danny Rose will be the most interesting battle this Sunday, with the two Englishmen not exactly slouches.

LW: Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez

There's no dilemma when considering Alexis Sanchez for the starting XI on Sunday. Sanchez's current run makes him the league's in-form player with crucial goals and contributions aplenty.

Sanchez is known to be a big-game performer and games don't come any bigger than Tottenham in the North London Derby. Kyle Walker against the Chilean will be an intriguing battle.

ST: Olivier Giroud

Olivier Giroud

What a week Giroud has had. Three goals in just two games make it seem that the Frenchman has returned to his best at a crucial time.

Wenger has been playing Sanchez in a central role, but Giroud's form should ensure he moves back into his favoured position.
