Some Arsenal fans are eager to sign France international Benjamin Pavard after his excellent performance at the World Cup on Saturday.

The 22-year-old defender played a crucial role in his country's 4-3 win over Argentina, smashing in a volley that is a contender for the best goal scored in the tournament so far. It helped his side progress into the quarter-finals of the competition.

The finals are hotting up in Russia, with teams like England surely now glad to avoid France's half of the draw, instead facing Colombia on Tuesday for the chance to play Sweden or Switzerland. For that match, the World Cup betting odds have Gareth Southgate's men as evens to progress and a final against the French isn't out of the question.

Pavard plays his club football at Stuttgart, where he plays predominately as a centre-back, although it's clear from his France performances so far that he is more than capable of playing on the right flank too.

Many Arsenal fans are now touting him for a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer, with some feeling he could be a good replacement for the under performing Hector Bellerin.

Would he be a good signing for the Gunners ahead of the new season?

These supporters took to Twitter to share their thoughts on a potential switch after his Saturday display...
