Tottenham vs Arsenal: Confirmed starting Xis

Today’s lunchtime Premier League kick-off plays host to the hotly anticipated North London derby, with Arsenal making the short trip down the road to Tottenham’s White Hart Lane.

Spurs haven’t enjoyed the best luck against the Gunners in recent encounters, winning just one of the last six North London ties. But they’re currently just two points and one place behind the 5th-place visitors in the Premier League table, so will certainly fancy their chances this afternoon.

Especially amid a run of six wins and just one defeat in their last eight league outings, including 5-3 thumping of table-toppers Chelsea at the Lane. Arsenal meanwhile, haven’t lost in the Premier League since New Years’ Day – two weekends later, beating reigning champions Manchester City at the Etihad.

So in arguably one of the most tightly contested North London derbies in years, who goes in as the favourites? Perhaps the confirmed starting line-ups will shed some light o the debate:

The big news is that Alexis Sanchez has failed to even make the bench due to injury, with Danny Welbeck taking his place in the starting XI. Meanwhile Eric Dier is a surprise inclusion over Federico Fazio at the heart of Tottenham’s defence.
