Tough-tackling star holds talks with Man City but preferring Arsenal transfer

According to reports from L’Equipe, Manchester City have held talks with N’Golo Kante’s representatives, but the Leicester City enforcer would prefer a summer transfer to Arsenal.

The France international was a key influence on the Foxes’ shock Premier League title, missing just one of their league games whilst averaging the most tackles and interceptions per match of any player in the division.

Consequentially, interest in the 25-year-old is high ahead of the transfer window – especially amid rumours of a £20million release clause inserted into the contract he signed last summer.

L’Equipe claim Manchester City have twice held talks with the midfielder’s representatives regarding a summer switch to the Etihad, with manager Pep Guardiola reportedly a huge fan.

But it’s further alleged that Kante would much prefer a move to London – emphatic news for fellow suitors Arsenal, who have also held talks with the former Caen star.

It was announced earlier this week that Kante has made Didier Deschamps’ France squad for the European championship on his home soil.
