Transfer fee agreed: Arsenal ace set to re-sign for former club

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is on the verge of re-signing for Roma on a season-long loan with the view to a permanent transfer.

The Poland international boasts 181 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners, holding down the club’s No.1 berth for three straight seasons.

But Szczesny lost his place in the first team during the 2014/15 campaign, convincing Arsene Wenger to swoop for Chelsea icon Petr Cech during the subsequent summer transfer window.

That paved the way for a loan move to Roma, where the 26-year-old registered 36 appearances in the Italian top flight last season.

And according to Gianluca Di Marzio, the 6 foot 5 shot-stopper is on the verge of extending his Stadio Olimpico¬†spell by another season – but Giallorossi’s latest deal will include an option to buy.

It’s claimed Arsenal and the Serie A outfit have already agreed a ¬£13.4million future transfer fee, however there is still some dispute over whether Roma will pay his wages in full for next season.
