Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has claimed that he wants to stay at Arsenal after coming on the score away at West Ham yesterday, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Walcott came on in the second half to put Arsenal in front at Upton Park and said after the game that he hopes his contract situation can be sorted very soon.
“I want to play for this club and hopefully something can happen very soon,” Walcott said.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger also revealed that he is pleased with Walcott and his contribution on Saturday evening as contract negotiations get under way for the England winger.
“He is slowly getting there,” Wenger said.
“You’re confident now when he gets in front of goal that he will score. Of course he scored an important one today at a moment where the game was a bit 50-50.
“Theo has an outstanding attitude and I don’t rule anybody out. If I did then I would not bring him on in a crucial moment in the game. I believe in him.”
