One player who has always remained a favourite among the Arsenal following is Santi Cazorla.
The Spaniard has been out of action since October 2016 when he suffered an achilles injury, which initially seemed relatively innocuous.
However, the matter soon became serious and after countless surgeries, the midfielder suffered an infection that almost led to him having his foot amputated.
Arsenal fans have regularly given their support to Cazorla on social media, but it remains unclear on whether he will return to action again.
While speaking to reporters in a press conference, manager Arsene Wenger revealed that the midfielder is improving and that a new contract would be up for discussion if he can prove his fitness.
Spending more than a year on the sidelines indicates that Cazorla would need plenty of time to get up to speed in the Premier League again.
On top of that, the Spaniard, who is out of contract this summer, is in the latter stages of his career at the age of 33.
After Wenger gave the update on Cazorla’s situation, Arsenal fans tweeted their thoughts.

Damn, I miss him. I feel sorry for him and how the injuries have caught up to him. I don't know how much longer his playing career will last but I hope he'll continue to be a part of our club and maybe coach our midfielders. ❤️

Would love to see the little magician feed Lacazette and Aubameyang. Let's get him back to fitness for next season. We have missed his magic in midfield.

Let him wear the shirt again- at the Emirates- for 5 minutes or so and give that legend the send-off he deserves. I don’t care if hobbles around the pitch. Make it happen.
