The Gunners’ Brazilian centre-back was stretchered off during a weekend pre-season friendly win over Manchester City, which has reduced Arsene Wenger’s backline options further ahead of the start of the new Premier League season.
Arsenal are already missing Per Mertesacker, who is expected to be sidelined for a few months, while Laurent Koscielny is unlikely to be fit for Sunday’s game against Liverpool.
As a result, Rob Holding, a recent signing from Bolton, may be in line for game time, and reports claim Wenger is anxious to secure signings to bolster his options, with Klostermann a player he’s keen on.
The 20-year-old is currently away with the German Olympic Team at Rio 2016, and although he’s been playing right-back, the 6ft. 2” defender can operate at centre-back.
As well as Arsenal, Spurs are believed to be interested after scouting the youngster in the past.
Klostermann will not be available for the coming few weeks even if a deal can be pushed through quickly, with Germany set to play at least one more game in South America.
The former Bochum enforcer helped RB Leipzig to promotion to the Bundesliga last season.
