The spotlight was on Luis Suarez once again over the weekend, as Liverpool’s controversial striker made his first appearance at the Emirates since his latest scandal.
If the Uruguayan had his way, he would have been out on the Emirates turf a long time before the first weekend of November, as he attempted to engineer a move to Liverpool’s rivals over the summer as they could offer him the Champions League football he felt he deserved.
But Liverpool stood firm, and Suarez to his credit has been superb since – until Saturday night.
The Premier League’s most feared partnership – The ‘SAS’ – were nowhere to be seen at the Emirates, with Suarez in particular struggling to get into his usual rhythm.
In fact, you could say his performance was so poor that the lad who got Suarez printed on his Arsenal shirt could have worn it that evening and got away with it, considering the Uruguayan found a red shirt more often than not each time he picked up the ball!
While this may be a case of counting your chickens before they have hatched, you wonder whether this lad may be able to use that shirt at some point in the future after all?
