Well there you have it! If you hadn't figured out Robin Van Persie's designs two-months ago then shame on you for lacking the necessary football wisdom. Not to sound too cliche but the writing has been on the wall for weeks now. Quite frankly if he had any intention of staying with the Gunners he would have ink on his contract would have been drying before he jetted off to Euro 2012. But with just a year left to run on his current deal Van Persie has effectively cleared the path leading towards the Emirates Stadium exit. Disagreeing with the direction the North Londoners are headed in the future has made his position virtually untenable. At 28 he's coming towards the peak of his career and has managed just one winners medal during eight years at the club. Can you really blame him for wanting to stock his trophy cabinet with a deluge of silverware before succumbing to retirement? The big question is where will he end up next? Arsene Wenger won't let him go on the cheap and with several of Europes elite clubs circling and could have another potential summer long saga on his hands.

This week on FFC is Van Persie's decision to snub the Gunners' contract offer an insult and who will replace him at the Emirates Stadium should he leave?
