Aston Villa have been doing superbly well under Dean Smith this season, with the 48-year-old having completely turned their fortunes around after the departure of Steve Bruce.
And he and the club have now received a rousing message from none other than Smith’s mum, Hilary. The mother of the Villa manager was interviewed by Birmingham TV, with the subsequent video being posted on Twitter.

In the footage, she wishes the team good luck for the play-offs, hoping they get promoted.
Having watched the interview, Villa fans responded in their dozens. One supporter claimed they were nearly in tears whilst another called it beautiful.
Another fan responded by claiming it was brilliant that both the manager and the club captain were Villa fans.
Smith has been an instant hit at Villa Park, guiding his team to fourth in the Championship. As such, the team have a fantastic chance of gaining promotion back to the Premier League.
The club are currently 12 games unbeaten, having previously won ten on the bounce before drawing 1-1 with Leeds last weekend.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
I’m nearly in tears…love her…love him…love VILLA…

Thats Class!! It’s brilliant at the mo to have the captain & head coach of the club both proper Villa fans, brought up in the area & getting the heart & soul back into the club ?UTV

Love it. Like Dean his mom seems really down to earth. The whole family come from a working class background and you get the impression they are very grounded and you’d be far more likely to see them in the Holte creating the atmosphere than sat in some box with a prawn sandwich
