The Belgium international has been a huge success in the Premier League since signing from Genk for £7million last August.
The 22-year-old has hit 23 goals in all competitions this season, helping Aston Villa secure their Premier League status with a game to spare.
Benteke’s performances have caught the eye of a number of top European clubs despite Villa’s insistence that he will not leave in the summer.
Champions League finalists Dortmund could be on the lookout for a striker in the close season with Poland international Robert Lewandowski expected to leave the Westfalenstadion.
Beteke’s agent, Eris Kismet, has confirmed that Die Borussen had dispatched scouts to watch the striker in action against Chelsea last Saturday, where Benteke scored but was later sent off.
“I am aware of the Dortmund representation at Villa Park for the Chelsea match, but Christian is still a Villa player and nothing has changed on that point,” Kismet told ESPN.
“There were a lot of scouts from many teams who have an interest in Christian. Now Aston Villa’s future in the Premier League is decided we will know more.
“It is natural for many teams to show an interest when Christian has had such a good season and scored many goals, but it is his first season in the Premier League.”
