A Chelsea reunion you never thought you'd see.

John Terry moved to Aston Villa in the summer of 2017, and after failing to win promotion to the top tier the following season, he retired and assumed a role that saw him swap his boots for a shirt and a tie.

Now serving as Villa's assistant manager, he helped the team claw back into the Premier League last season.

And with the 2019/20 campaign just around the corner, it's time for the players and coaching staff to report back to the office and start preparing their pre-season.

Terry posted an

Pato, who moved to Stamford Bridge on loan in 2016 but only scored once in two appearances, left just one word of admiration for Terry down in the comment section, calling the 38-year-old his captain. The pair exchanged some casual messages following that.

Terry has been superb so far as an assistant manager, but the word on the street is that he might soon have something different in mind, and a position of head coach might come his way in the foreseeable future.

Either way, the fact that a man who played just twice for the club is still so enamoured and appreciative of Terry's leadership qualities certainly bodes well for his future in coaching.
